Annual Memorabilia Auction
April 6 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Our May meeting is our Annual Memorabilia Auction, our major fundraising event of the year and always one of the most enjoyable evenings we have.
Our auction is one of our most important fundraising event of the year, which provides money for us to pay for guests to attend Friday night special events throughout the year and also allows us additional resources for Whoovervile. If you’ve never been to a Whoovers event before, this could be a great place to start.
So, how can you help?
- Above all attend the auction. If you can’t, then you can’t but do your best. It’s always one of the most enjoyable events of the year and even if you don’t spend much money, it all helps.
- Donate stuff to sell. It doesn’t have to be Doctor Who related, or even cult TV or film (although that is preferable). You never know what will sell. Please no VHS or Betamax tapes – however if you do have cult TV or film on VHS to get rid of, contact John R. Walker through us – he may be interested. Please make an effort to part with something worthwhile, which will raise money for the group. If you cannot get to the auction, you can still donate. Let us know what you have and where we can pick it up from and we will collect it.
- On the night, please be prepared to bid generously. Yes, bargains will be available, but don’t hold back, if you want something, be prepared to pay at least something – it’s for the group.
As last year, you will be asked to pay for your purchases as you win each auction, rather than being asked to settle up at some time before the end of the evening.
As previously announced, this sadly is our final ever meeting at the VoiceBox, which is closing. We hope you will want to come and say goodbye to what has been a very happy home for our group – and also to thank Ann and Colin for making us so welcome for the last 11 and a half years.
